Puppet making is an all-encompassing endeavor. The art form blends the disciplines of sculpture, drawing, and painting with the laws of physics and gravity, as well as the science of anatomy. This project was used to broaden the students understanding and appreciation for the artistry involved in creating puppets. Students were also required to build backdrops and props for their puppets performance. Story-boarding, play-writing, narrative and puppet manipulation were a big part of the team challenge. The students entire performance was recorded and a documentary film is in progress. The puppets and the performance are being used to educate school age children about responsible and social behavior.
