Disability History and Awareness Month Posters
The Partnership for People with Disabilities, an affiliate of the School of Education at Virginia Commonwealth University, aims to advocate for equal personal and professional opportunities for people with disabilities. The Partnership for People with Disabilities hired Thinkhaus to help brand October as “Disability History and Awareness Month” by designing posters that would be placed in K–12 schools throughout the state of Virginia. The posters are a part of a larger campaign to teach all students about acceptance and awareness of all people. The message was conveyed without using stereotypical imagery often used to depict people with disabilities. This project was completed while an owner of Thinkhaus LLC.
